Restoration – Phase II
In September, 2006, the organ was moved to the workroom of Charles
Henry, organ builder of Entrechaux, France. Charles will re-construct
new windchests and a wind system, the mechanical action and the replica
Puget console.

The precious original 1890 Puget nameplate
being passed from Yves Cabourdin to Charles Henry
symbolising the beginning of the second phase of the reconstruction.
The role of Consultant will now be performed by Michel

The role of Assistant Consultant will continue to be performed by

de Lasala, organist of Sacred Heart Church, Mosman, Sydney,
and an authority on French organs and French organ music.
YOU CAN HELP US Restoring an organ is an expensive
and complex project. Our small committee has raised over $350,000
towards the ultimate cost of over $400,000 with private donations
and a NSW Heritage Grant of $26,500.
Our fund-raising goal is now set on the return journey in 2008 and
I hope to sponsor its return from France by air. It should come home
in style, certainly the most fragile parts will have to travel par
avion, and with determination and perseverance I am aiming for the
entire instrument to land at Sydney Airport. But this, of course,
is still a dream. To make it a reality, we need to raise another $50,000
with your help by sponsoring pipes, and organ stops and tax-deductible
donations.
Please support this important restoration with donations (which are
tax deductible), and attendance at our fund-raising functions, as
we continue this very exciting journey.
Details of pipe sponsorships and sponsorships of organ stops are available
under “Donations”
